Partnerships: For my October 2011 Speaker Visit trip to Corvallis, Oregon, a public librarian teamed up with a local public high school - splitting costs between them to have me present at both the library and the school. In Los Angeles, a PTA group partnered with a GSA club to bring me to their public school. Maybe your school/organization/library/club could do something similar!

From Left to Right: Randy Tenan-Snow, Lee, and Jill Barker -
two of the amazing faculty sponsors of Pali High's GSA club.
COORDINATION WITH YOUR LIBRARIANS & COUNSELORS
Lee will work with your school librarians to pull diverse titles from your collection to encourage students to read broadly - both about people like themselves, and about people NOT like them at all!
He will also communicate with your school counselors before arriving for the day of presentations to understand more about what's going on in the culture of your school, and how he can best help. One day's visit is no magic wand, but rather an empowering continutation of an ongoing conversation, a dialog that will need to continue after Lee's visit to have the greatest impact to make things better!

"I highly recommend any school, organization, community group who is looking to become more inclusive, open, and aware of their practice to invite Lee to take you on the journey.” - Inez Tiger, LMFT Middle School Counselor, The Rabbi Jacob Pressman Academy of Temple Beth Am , Los Angeles, California
